This informative session describes the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) program, a study and examination program designed to train highly qualified, ethically grounded investment performance professionals to meet industry needs. This specialized credentialing program, which is independent of the CFA Program, includes an online curriculum that covers professional ethics; performance measurement, attribution, and appraisal; and the GIPS® standards. Speakers
Todd A. Jankowski, CFA, is director of Curriculum Development for the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) program at CFA Institute. Previously, he was head of investment research in the Wealth Management division of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, and earlier he was a senior financial analyst for Helling Realty & Investment Company and an internal revenue agent with the U.S. federal tax authority. He has served as a member of the Investment Performance Council, the CFA Program Candidate Curriculum Committee Working Body, and the board of the CFA Society of Milwaukee. Mr. Jankowski earned a BBA degree with a major in accounting and a minor in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and an MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Joanne L. Infantino, CFA, is director of Examination Development in the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) program at CFA Institute. Previously, she was senior vice president of Client Service at Systematic Financial Management, senior consultant at Mercer Investment Consulting and Segal Advisors, and senior consultant at Ibbotson Associates. Prior to joining Ibbotson Associates, Ms. Infantino was an equity portfolio manager for the Air Canada Pension Trust Fund. She has also been a guest speaker at several industry conferences for the Institute for International Research, the Investment Management Network, ICM Conferences and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She received a BA from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
Philip N. Lawton, CFA, CIPM, is director of the CGIPS Program in the CFA and CGIPS Programs Division of CFA Institute. His previous experience includes serving as vice president at State Street Corporation, where he supported the investment consulting firms that belong to the Independent Consultants Cooperative and at Citibank, where he headed U.S. performance measurement in Worldwide Securities Services. Mr. Lawton earned a doctorate in philosophy in the French-speaking section of The Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and a master of arts in business administration with a concentration in finance at Northeastern University. He is a member of the Society for Business Ethics.
