Russell J. Fuller, CFA, is president of Fuller & Thaler Asset Management (F&T), an investment advisory firm that specializes in exploiting behavioral biases. Prior to establishing Fuller & Thaler Asset Management, Dr. Fuller worked as a security analyst at two investment advisory firms and at a brokerage firm that is now a division of UBS Paine Webber. In the academic field, he has served as chairman of the finance department at Washington State University and has held positions at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has authored a textbook on investments, two Research Foundation monographs, and more than 30 journal articles. Dr. Fuller is currently on the advisory board for the Journal of Portfolio Management and has previously served on the editorial board for the Financial Analysts Journal. He received an FAJ Graham & Dodd Award of Excellence for his 1995 paper on predictability bias (coauthored with Lex Huberts). Dr. Fuller has served as a member of the board of directors for the Security Analysts Society of San Francisco and as chairman of its quantitative program. In 2006, he was designated a “Distinguished Member” of the San Francisco CFA Society for his contributions to both the San Francisco Society and CFA Institute. Dr. Fuller holds a BA in English literature, an MBA, and a PhD in finance from the University of Nebraska.
