Iqbal Asaria is the head of European operations for Yasaar Ltd., which provides Shariah-compliant solutions for the banking and finance industry. For the past several years he has served as a consultant for financial product structuring and niche marketing services to faith communities in the United Kingdom, including advising banks and insurance companies on their launch of Islamic financial services. Mr. Asaria is the special advisor on business and economic affairs to the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain and previously served as the Council’s business and economics committee chair. He has taught courses in Islamic finance, banking, and insurance at various universities and business schools in the UK. Mr. Asaria earned his graduate degree at Victoria University, Manchester.
