George Friedlander is a managing director and chief municipal strategist with Citi Investment Research & Analysis. Previously, he worked with the Citigroup private client group and on the joint venture between Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Friedlander also helped create Smith Barney’s fixed-income high-net-worth platform. He has been recognized with awards from SIFMA and its predecessor firms, the Bond Market Association and the Public Securities Association, and from the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. Mr. Friedlander was named the top municipal strategist by Institutional Investor in 2011. He has also served as the securities industry representative on U.S. Congressman Beryl Anthony’s commission on public finance.
