Emerging Markets Finance

April 2005 Contributed by the Batten Institute at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration

Emerging markets have received large flows of foreign direct investment and portfolio investment, yet they remain a frontier for investment best practice. This webcast package seeks to explore structural changes in the emerging markets landscape, opportunities and risks in China's capital markets, and the effects of capital controls in emerging markets and current sentiment about capital controls as a policy tool. A major goal of these sessions is to disseminate high-quality, managerially relevant research, both theoretical and applied.
